STILLNESS MEDITATION THERAPY (S.M.T.™)
Time being spent well …
Stillness Meditation Therapy involves the unique pioneering concept of meditation originated in the 1950’s by renowned psychiatrist, Dr Ainslie Meares. While various forms of meditation are popular today, Meares initiated this meditative approach for the primary purpose of anxiety reduction, relief of symptoms and better health.
This approach to meditation differs from traditional techniques. This is the original therapeutic meditation, and it is non-sectarian and unrelated to culture, philosophy or religion. There is no ritual, mysticism or deference to a guru which makes it relevant and suitable to modern Western society.
Stillness Meditation Therapy is characterized by its absence of technique and logical stimulus. Within an experience of simplicity and naturalness, people are assisted to let go beyond disturbance and achieve profound and prolonged mental rest.
Repetition of this form of therapy results in reduced anxiety and loss of related symptoms. Further benefits include calmness, and improvement in coping ability, concentration, mental clarity and energy. Also improvements in productivity, performance, resilience, creativity, insight, spiritual awareness, better health and increased contentment.
Stillness Meditation Therapy can be practiced alone but assisted sessions with a trained facilitator who is fully involved in the process can bring exceptional results.
